From the Taos MIRA website (this site is no longer available online):

Our goal is to promote Taos globally as a Center for the Healing Arts. We will build a web site, print and distribute brochures and educational materials throughout northern New Mexico to educate the public about our diverse healing practices and make people aware of their benefits to total health. We will offer outreach community projects including educational presentations and Health Fairs as well as participate in community events to further offer a clearing house of resources and referrals of healing services.

In this way a full range of wholistic health care and traditional healing arts practiced in New Mexico will be made available to the community. We plan to model cooperation among health care practitioners that can be replicated in other communities who wish to provide awareness of a wide range of health care choices, both modern and traditional. Youth will be enlisted as tech leaders and will be assisted in making career choices as part of our health professional mentoring program. The project will have national and global significance.

The Healing Arts team was highly successful in reaching their proposed goals. The team created the Taos Wholistic Health Alliance, group of health care practitioners who have come together to promote Taos globally as a Center for the Healing Arts. The Alliance's web site offers information on a wide variety of wholistic health services and information on local practitioners. They also host classes and workshops. The site also offers articles written by Health Alliance members.
