There were four school districts involved in the Community Journalism and Youth Press Team-Lake Holcombe, Turtle Lake, Flambeau, and Cheteck.

The team members from Lake Holcombe wanted to bring the community together. Many of the team members felt the adults were not in touch with the youth of the community. The team wanted to find a way for the adults and youth to come together on a single project. They decided to start a newsletter. They youth were the writers and the adults acted as editors and distributors.

In order to write the newsletter the youth interacted with the adult teachers in the district; therefore, creating a relationship and understanding between the teachers and students. Over time those involved in the newsletter project were able to build strong relationships. The youth benefited from the adults life experience and the adults began to feel "young again."

The newsletter is a continuing project supported by the school district and the students' parents.
