The MIRA team in Radford, Virginia was concerned with the use of technology within their community. In order to make technological use more effective, the team brought together citizens and government and school leaders, including members of the local library, chamber of commerce and the city's economic development director, to create a comprehensive technology task force. The task force planned, developed and implemented a comprehensive technology plan. They then provided the local library with its own server for the internet and revamped the community website. MIRA grant money was used in the creation of the links "Religion," "Radford City Historical Society," "Wildwood Park" and "Pathways" found under the heading "Community" on the main page. Construction is nearly complete on websites for ten different non-profit organizations within the community, as well. |
